[RESOLVED] Showing links ER Diagram (SQL Server)
Hi
I am new to CR (as in today) and I am looking at a fairly basic report, which uses data from an SQL Server DB. I created a new report using Access DB as a tutorial and can view the ER diagram of tables and relationship links by going to Database > Database Expert > Link tab.
But using the report from SQL server there is no links tab. how can I display the actual data/queries and links from this SQL server based report, I can see tables etc. in report explorer window?
Thanks
G
Re: Showing links ER Diagram (SQL Server)
You didn't say Crystal Reports version
I have CR 10 , and when create a new report using OLEDB (ADO), Microsoft OLEDB Provider for SQL Sever, I can see the Links tab

Re: Showing links ER Diagram (SQL Server)
Here's what else i've done:
In CR9 made new connection in ole db to sql server. I originally had the connection in odbc and not sure if that was right. I still cannot display report data in CR9 when I put in parameters in window when I try print preview to show report.
What I am also not very sure of is there is a button on my report browser for Generating a new TTX. I am under the impression that if I go into my report browser, set parameters then generate new TTX then should I be able to open this TTX in CR9?
I have tried this but I do not get data I am looking for. I get one record and I do not know where this is coming from.
Is there any way to check an error log or where the dat in my report is getting values/parameters from?
Thanks
G
Re: Showing links ER Diagram (SQL Server)
I'm not sure if what I am asking is clear as no one seems to have offered any advice?
I also now have a problem viewing report. I get this message when trying to view it from my report browser after adding a new field:
login failed. Details: 28000[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][SQL Server] login failed for user 'sa'
Although all other reports work.
I am quite unsure if my data connection is correct or not. I find it difficult to get a definitve answer or solution as to what this is meant to be?
Thanks
G
