I'm still trying to figure out which one is worse. Is it the fact that people still watch this show, or the fact that the "winnar" of the show counts as a news headline?
Jury is still out.
I watch it. :p
Comcast screwed up the end of the show in my area. At the very moment Kris realized he was the winner, Comcast loaded up an EAS for an Amber Alert. It seemed to be timed to coincide with the show ending at exactly 10:07pm. Of course it ran late, so just another reason for me to hate Comcast.
Not only do people watch American Idol but I understand it has rather high viewer ratings and that's why you see the results in news headlines.
I am aware of the viewership, but what "Idol" has actually had any kind of sustainable success after the show?
Kelly Clarkson is the only one that comes to mind. Clay Aiken maybe, but he didn't even win, he was the runner-up. Ruben Studdard has had moderate success, but nothing like the popularity he had immediately after the show.
I could probably stand to watch AI if it actually meant something. It's just a bunch of people that can sing fighting for 15 minutes of fame.
Best performer Idol has produced --> Carrie Underwood
I like live performances and believe it or not I miss the variety shows of old. AI appeals to that missing bit of entertainment to me. I only watch it for the performances. I could care less about their scripted drama.
thanks for letting me know this i will be able to go home and tell my 13 YO Daughter tonight and wont have to sit through that crap as i did last night. We have a delay here in the uk !!
She will hate you and grow up to be an angry and resentful child.
Yeah, and telling her the outcome of American Idol will probably make it happen even sooner.
