VS 2008 debugging and Windows 7
So I'm using VS2008, .Net 3.5 SP1, and Windows 7 64-bit, build 7000, and I can't seem to debug anything. The code compiles, the application launches, but when an error happens, it just dies out. Windows catches the error, looks for a solution, finds none, then just closes the app. Huge problem at the moment, since I'm trying to figure out why this program is erroring on me when I try to use a PathGradientBrush instead of a SolidBrush.....
Re: VS 2008 debugging and Windows 7
Wait until Tuesday/Wednesday when Win7 gets released publicly I (plus others) should be able to help you solve the problem. However, wouldn't the fact that you can't debug be an issue with VS 2008 rather than Win7 or is Win7 not allowing you to install/use the debug software?
Re: VS 2008 debugging and Windows 7
I don't know if VS is forgetting to add debug points in the app, or of Windows is not letting the error make it back to VS... either way, it's annoying.
Re: VS 2008 debugging and Windows 7
Have Microsoft released any news about running VS2008 under Win7 on their website?
Edit:
Googling the subject I found a lot of people having problems with VS2008 hanging in Win7:
