My Dell 620 Latitude won't send out a signal to any external monitor. So I have to rely on the laptop's screen to see the picture.
Something's screwy and I cannot figure out what. :mad:
At my workplace, I use a docking station and that apparatus seems to be working without any issues.

On most laptops, there is a function key on the lower right-hand side of the keyboard. It is next to the CTRL key, and is typically marked Fn.
With your external monitor plugged in to your laptop, hold down the Fn key, and then look around on the function keys for graphic symbols. Press the one that looks like a monitor (mine is the F3 key), and your external monitor should kick on.
if you have an intel chipset, there is a hotkey combination that extends the desktop to an external monitor. You need to view graphics properties to see if it is enabled and see what it is.
On a Dell, the combination is Fn F8. This sends a signal out, but nothing happens.Quote:

Your monitor connection support televisions? Read the manual. Are you using a "composite over vga" adapter? Also are you trying to connect by svideo or composite, or do you have an hdmi or dvi input on the television?
