[RESOLVED] OLEDB / Dsr doubts

With VB6 + Access03
................
so for i coded fine with OLEDB and works fine
now i have to generate reports, i don't wish to send data to
excel or any other files.

kindly advise

(a) through OLEDB is it possible to generate reports

(b) if i use data reports then i have the problem is

(1) i don't know how to set the connection string
b'cse i used app.path & "mydb.mdb" which is not acceptable for the Dsr, but the wizard can guide well through DSN, even the DSN also posses problems which is slow as compare to OLEDB and any one can tamper it externally i hate this , be'use i likes the coding way.

(c) the third party reporting tools are heard to be good but i can not bear them.
it is just as 10$ chicken 100$ spice's .
please advise the efficient way
i am very poor in advanced technics if any demo project links possibly will help me great please.

In this case the best forum is "Visual Basic > Reporting (Crystal, Access and Data Designer)", which is where I moved it to (as can be seen from the links above the first post, and below the "Quick Reply" near the bottom of the page).

The DataReport report designer that comes with VB6 will work fine for creating reports. There are lots of examples on this site or check out FreeVBCode.com. You can also fine plenty of information connection strings on this site.
