No McNuggets? Call 911...
Fort Pierce woman calls 911 three times when McNuggets run out
By Will Greenlee
Tuesday, March 3, 2009
FORT PIERCE — Told McDonald’s was out of Chicken McNuggets after paying for a 10-piece, a local woman called 911.
Three times.
"This is an emergency, If I would have known they didn't have McNuggets, I wouldn't have given my money, and now she wants to give me a McDouble, but I don't want one,” Latreasa L. Goodman later told police. “This is an emergency."
The McNugget meltdown happened last week at a McDonald’s in the 600 block of North U.S. 1 and ended with Goodman, 27, getting a notice to appear on a misuse of 911 charge, according to a recently released police report.
Goodman told investigators she tried to get a refund for the 10-piece McNuggets, but the cashier told her all sales are final.
"I called 911 because I couldn't get a refund, and I wanted my McNuggets," Goodman told police.
The cashier told police she offered Goodman, of the 2400 block of South 25th Street, a larger portion of food for the same price to make up for it, but said Goodman got “irate,” the report states.
Goodman reportedly yelled, "I don't want a McDouble and small fry," the cashier told investigators.
Dispatchers for 911 told police Goodman called the emergency number three times and on each occasion was told an officer was en route.
“Goodman maintained the attitude ‘this is an emergency, my McNuggets are an emergency,’” the report states.
McNuggets, introduced to the McDonald’s national menu in 1983, are sold in more than 100 countries and, unlike the McDouble, are often dunked in barbecue or hot mustard sauce.
Goodman’s 10-piece selection has 460 calories and 29 grams of fat.

If only we could test for idiocy and process those "sub-standards" into a fine multi-use paste. :afrog:

That would get rid of over 75% of your politicians, and 85% of your lawyers.

Re: No McNuggets? Call 911...
The cashier did lie to her as all sales are NOT final at McDonalds. Still pretty stupid to call 911 though...
Sometimes I feel great shame for my country...

Re: No McNuggets? Call 911...
If it had been a donut shop, she wouldn't have had to dial for cops.

That picture never gets old.. But I feel like an idiot now, I just burst into laughter in the middle of my lecture.
-
Re: No McNuggets? Call 911...
Hmmm, if your professor gets mad at you, will he lecture you? Can you have a lecture about a lecture?
-
Re: No McNuggets? Call 911...
No but I narrowly avoided being lectured by my lecturer about laughing during a lecture.

quit jumping to conclusions. The woman already proved she's a nutcase and you believe her when she said the cashier told her all sales are final?

America's a continent, not a country, and one exclamation mark is used to show excitement, etc. More than one merely lowers the collective intelligence of the entire continent.

Are you seriously that arrogant? I hope you meant North America, which includes Canada, the United States and Mexico. The US is just a country.

who said anything about the US? I think you quoted the wrong person because you just said exactly the same thing i did, although technically i should have said "America is two continents and a connecting land-bridge, not a country".
The ironic point was someone making fun of a country and making three serious errors in the statement itself (i didn't bother to mention the missing "a" - er... until now that is.)
Some of us Yankees take offence to our "country" being called stupid, when in fact it's about 50% of the population.
(if you don't agree with that statement, too bad. If you line up everyone on an IQ chart, exactly half of them are going to be below the median).

Ok i agree.
North America is a continent.
South america is a continent.
What is Central America? Plus if you REALLY want to start an argument, over half of the world (including all members of the united nations) claim that Mexico is part of Central America. There is no agreed-upon northern border for Central America.

Re: No McNuggets? Call 911...
Central America is an area in, and a part of, North America.

Belize
Costa Rica
Guatemala
Honduras
Nicaragua
Panama
El Salvador
Dominican Republic
With Panama being the only trans-continental country in the group.

it's interesting to note that the original maps only had "America" for South America since it was discovered first. Later "North America" was added but South wasn't added until MUCH later.

Re: No McNuggets? Call 911...
Stunningly uninteresting.

Yip. I seem to recall that about 52% of Americans voted for Bush.
Whoa... seeing as your country is not known as "America" but rather "The United States of America", what are your people called? Surely "American" will then imply anyone from either one of the two continents. Even Canadians will be known as Americans. :afrog:

PEORIA —
Police were called to a West Bluff McDonald's restaurant early Saturday after an employee was allegedly assaulted with a breakfast sandwich.
About 5:20 a.m., a man at the drive-through window at 627 N. Western Ave. was upset his McGriddle sandwich didn't have an egg in it, the victim told police. She told the man she would correct the sandwich, but he became irate when the driver of the vehicle behind him honked at him to move.
The man then threw the hot, greasy sandwich at the 38-year-old employee's face, according to police reports. The man drove off before police arrived.
The woman refused medical attention.

Re: No McNuggets? Call 911...
i used to work at wendy's and i guy (with no warning and no previous interaction with employees) called over an employee that didn't even make his food or take his order and once she was there, yelled at the top of his lungs "I DIDN'T WANT MUSTARD" and threw the opened burger at her, getting mustard all over her. She had to be sent home and was crying because of the assault.
You get a lot of people as customers in restaurants who just naturally assume they are better than you and can treat you like dirt.

I see this happening quite often... People can be so... cruel sometimes. :(
