RealVNC auto start
I Installed RealVNC to try it out, I don't want to un-install it yet because I might need it.
But I went through the options, and just can see where is the option to STOP the auto start when Windows starts...
Every time I have to right click and choose "Close VNC Server", and I find that really anoying !
I found it in Control Pannel/Services and I set it to Manual run. But I think it is really anoying that cannot do that through it's interface.

Re: RealVNC auto start
The idea is that if you dont want it running all the time, you dont start the 'service mode' version. Instead, you go to Start -> Programs -> RealVNC -> VNC Server 4 (User Mode) -> VNC Server.
That way, the server will only stay open until either you close it manually or you shut down. It will not then start up next time you log in.

Re: RealVNC auto start
Hey,
The way I do it is what you have already said, set the service to manual, that way, all I have to do when I want to run it is to start the service.
Create yourself a batch file and stick it on the desktop and double click it when you want it to run.
Hope that helps!!

Re: RealVNC auto start
Or just start it in user mode like I said! :) Thats the whole point of "user mode".
Why make a batch file that starts a service, why not just create a shortcut to the User Mode version...
