converting videos to play on a tivo
i have a series 2 tivo (the one that only supports mpeg2 playback). I originally had a program by Videora that was free but when i reinstalled and tried to redownload it, it seems to have been removed. As long as the program creates a standard mpeg2 file, a tivo can play it, and the tivo desktop software will stream it to the tivo. I have another program that i can choose mpeg2 as a conversion format, but it's pretty darn buggy and slow as dirt to boot. Came with a msi tv card.
A free converter that used my gpu for faster conversion would be even better...
What do you use?
Re: converting videos to play on a tivo
Doesn't nero have that capacity? I thought it did...
Edit:
More converters which are free

Infact if you browse this link

, you will find plenty of them... Just check for $0.00 which means the software is a freeware :)
Re: converting videos to play on a tivo
it may have it, i don't know. I have nero 7 but it's not installed. Super (the first link) seems to be exactly what i wanted. I was hoping to find one that functioned as a ffmpeg wrapper, so i could see how it did it and write a program that does the same function automatically. Final goal is to have two folders: One is the folder that downloaded videos will go to. A program will watch this folder and launch a ffmpeg conversion with the target directory a 2nd folder which is watched by the tivo software. It will also watch for deletions of files from the first folder and if they are deleted, it will delete the converted file in the 2nd folder as well.
