When changing ram clock, Windows will not start.
Core 2 Duo 2.53ghz
FoxConn M7PMX Motherboard
DDR2 Kingston HyperX 2 x 1 GB 1066mhz - Running at 800mhz by default!!
Normally, the memory speed is at "Auto" and runs at 800mhz, But when I change voltage to what its suppose to be (2.20v @ 1066), and change clock speed to 1066, windows will NOT boot. Sometimes it freezes at "Building DMI Pool", and IF it gets past that, windows will complain of a random error, Usually somethign about ACPI.sys, but also complains of 100% random system files missing. I assume its having problems loading these files from the ram.
Anyone know why it would do this? Or more importantly how to fix it?
Re: When changing ram clock, Windows will not start.
Why do you want to change the voltage if it worked before?

Freeway speed limit is 70mph, why drive at 25?
Re: When changing ram clock, Windows will not start.
What I'm getting at is it might depend on hardware component specs not the actual operating system!
Re: When changing ram clock, Windows will not start.
The ram is designed to run at 2.20 volts at 1066. I have no way of knowing what voltage it is using running at only half-capacity. The ram is BUILT to be 2.20 volts and 1066, my motherboard runs it at god knows what, at 800mhz

Exactly. But driving at 70mph bears a much higher risk of getting an accident than driving at 25mph. There's no free lunch after all :)
Re: When changing ram clock, Windows will not start.
the website says that that memory speed is only supported with an overclock. Good luck...
