I'll keep this short, what exactly is a "wrapper" functon. People mention them, I guess they're just functions with fancy name?

Wrapper - A function that provides a simplified interface to another function, for example by changing the order of some parameters or by interpreting the return code.

Other words, you have probably seen generic functions (like registry manipulation, INI etc) all these functions are wrappers to low level APIs.
