Internet issue

How do i know which process is fetching so much internet ?
I have not ran anything NO APPLICATIONS started.
Just the background processes/services. And i am seeing the Task Manager and cannot figure out anything from it.
Windows Update is also off .. but again when i check the status of the Local Area Connection it shows up enormous internet flow.
How do i know if it's some process or virus?

Hello selanec, sound like you have a general PC usage issue. I'll move this thread. You could get Fiddler to see what's requesting what, or a firewall that lets you choose what's allowed to connect to the Internet. You could also do a netstat -a to see what's connecting.

there is some free ethernet frame capture software available. i use Ethereal.

Scan your computer for trojans maybe your computer has been infected!
