As I live so close to the source, it would be treacherous for my favourite to be anything other than Cheddar. :)
Contrary to what you may have been told, Cheddar Gorge is not the world's primary source for cheddar cheese.Quote:

Monterey Jack is very popular in the US and so is Swiss. You should have included those in the poll options. Monterey Jack is central to my diet. I have it almost every day.
This is a major simplification. How can any real cheese lover have a favourite cheese??? I love them all. Feta and olives pair very well with a planter's mint julep, camembert and soft goat cheeses are excellent with red wine, crumbled aged red cheddar adds a very nice zing to a garden salad.... I could keep going forever..
There were only 10 poll options, and I had to get in blue cheese, soft cheese, goats, some of that Dutch malarkey, some of that Greek malarkey, some of that Italian malarkey. I couldn't resist adding Cornish Yarg, but unfortunately there wasn't the room for cottage cheese, processed cheese, paneer etc. Hence the "Something else" option.
The world of cheese is majestic indeed, and I look forward to hearing all about other little gems across which you may have stumbled.
There's not much native in Singapore though, is there...?
Hardly, a good deal of asians are lactose intolerant as it is. But i'm not asian, i'm german and i've been travelling my entire life :) so i've had the privilege of sampling food and culture from all over the world. Just to throw in a little gem of a soft cheese, Port Salut. Really an excellent cheese on a wafer or just by itself with some wine.
There is no "none. I hate cheese!" choice?
I like puto cheese with less cheese. :|Quote:

Moderators can add more - tell me what others you want, and I'll add them. (but not too many, I can only add 2 at a time!)Quote:

Sometimes eating cheese can cause one to cut the cheese.
It may be cheesy to say so, but there are too many options left out.

Any cheese that requires eye protection needs recognition.
I've seen that cheese before. Never had the chance to try it. I would though, after clearing the maggots :afrog:

There was a kid I knew at school who used to get picked on really badly. His feet had been horrible mangled in a lawn-mowing accident and had been entirely cut off about half way along their length. The other kids thought this was cause for mirth and gave him hell.
They were Lack Toes Intolerant.
I'm sorry. I'm very... very sorry.
Yes, in more ways than you might think.
I'm surprised nobody has posted this yet...
Parmigiano-Reggiano!
Stilton
How come you don't have swiss? Swiss cheese is the ultimate sandwhich/burger cheese.
Believe it or not "Swiss cheese" is a bland nothingness. There are different types of Swiss cheese, some of which even have holes in them. Emmental is the most well known, but the variety you get in your fast food is far far removed from the true Swiss deliciousness.
I definitely should have had stilton.
Don't apologize for that. I got a good laugh out of it.Quote:
