Embedding images and data into single file

Howdie.
Was wondering if anyone could steer me to a way to embed raster images and data (integers, longs, doubles and strings) into a single output file in VB6? Mixing all the data into a single file is the easy part. The problem for me is how do I get at the bits in the raster image?
