[RESOLVED] Outlook 2003: Customized Form Not Displaying
Dear Guru's
I am unable to open the customized form that I created in Outlook 2003. The error message dispalyed is:
"The form you selected could not be displayed. The form required to view this message can not be displayed. Contact your administrator."
I've tried the following with no avail:
- Clear cache through Tools -> forms ->manage
- Delete cache file in actual location on my PC
- Publish form to different folders (publick / personal)
- Run detect and repair on outlook
- Try customizing different types of forms
Some more backgound:
a. The message appears regarless of what method I use to open it. Choose form command on menu or ny other means.
b. We are using exchange server
c. I've tested it and it is a common problem on other computers on our network.
d. If I run Add-in application on outlook that make use of their own customized forms - theirs works without problem.
e. The forms are Outlook's own that is customized and is not a VBform.
Please help, I'm stumped.
Thanks
Ossewa
Re: Outlook 2003: Customized Form Not Displaying
See if any one of these help?
1) If you are using EV7.5 (2007), then change the 'Deploy forms locally' setting to "Always" in the Advanced Outlook settings of the mailbox policy. In this case, the EV client always uses the build-in forms instead of forms on the system public folders.
or
2) Try publishing the form to Personal Forms Library instead of the mailbox folder
or
3) Deactivate Exchange Cache Mode
or
4) Also check out
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/223488
or
5) This error could be because of forms cache corruption. Best practice is to save copies of your work in progress as .oft files every so often. The information at http://www.slipstick.com/dev/propsyntax.htm might be useful to you. In general, set property values, not control values.
Re: Outlook 2003: Customized Form Not Displaying
I've tried the steps above with no success. Please note it is a common problem on all the office pc's. We are running an exchange server, so I think the answer must lie somewhere there.
Any other suggestions or help:
To recap : I cant open any custom forms
I have tried the following:
- Clear cache through manage cache function
- Manually delete the cache
- Upload latest service packs
- Increase size of cache memory
- Publish a standard form under a different name without any new controls
- Publish forms to different locations (both public and private)
I am on Outlook 2003
Please help....
Re: [RESOLVED] Outlook 2003: Customized Form Not Displaying
For the benefit of others searching this thread: The e-mail exchange server used was 3rd party software. Some research revealed that the exchange server did not support custom forms. To get the job done, one had to write VBscribt to make the standard forms perform the actions one wanted from the custom forms.
