Computers on the network with different dates
This causes some problems. Records in the database ends up with wrong dates, if a user has the wrong date on his computer. I guess that using MySql or such sql manager would avoid that, always using the server's time and date.
Since I'm only using an ms-access application on each computer, with everybody linked to a database on the server, this problem occurs.
I have thought of some workaround but thought I'd ask for opinions before working on this.
Thank you!
Re: Computers on the network with different dates
At my company we have the clients run logon scripts which sets the system time equal to the server so everyone is the same.
Re: Computers on the network with different dates
One thing you could do is to query the time of a certain computer that is not being touched by any users, it maybe the computer where the access database resides...
Re: Computers on the network with different dates
I just read your post again. So the actual date is wrong? Do you also manage or help manage this network or is someone else the network admin? You should probably mention to them that some of their users dates are off. This can cause other problems as well with updates and licenses.
