[2005] config file and XMLDocuments

During development most but not all of my config settings are setup using the settings in my Properties folder.

I was just wondering.

If I where to open up my config file as an XMLDocument, and updated/Added/Deleted nodes in the config, would this have any effect on the successfull running of my application ?

Would the config file be reset in any way ?
