Server 2003 Quoters and file filters
Okay I know how to filter certain file types, and I also know how to put a quote on peoples things.
IS it possible to combined the two and put a quote on a certain file type, so they can say... have 100mb of .Doc and 100mb of .jpg and 100mb of .mp3 etc?

"filter certain file types" and "quote on peoples things" is rather vague. I use Windows Server 2003 and that's definitely not making sense. I can put a quote on things. I just did in this post.

Okay, you know what a quoter is on WIndows Server 2003. That is putting a size limit on someones own personal area. Their home drive at this school is set to use the letter U. SO we want to set a certain limit size for their WHOLE U drive. SO say 500 MB.
WE ALSO, want to limit the files they use, so they can not use .Exe .bat etc.
I want to put a quoter on a specific file size. So they can ONLY have 100mb of .jpg to reduce the ammount of picture images they can have inside of their U drive.
Does that make sense?

Ah, a quota.
Info on quotas here http://www.microsoft.com/technet/scr...uotas.mspx#EMC
You can limit the total volume size and individual user limits.
I don't know if you can limit individual file sizes for certain types but I'd have a look in the group policy editor to see if this can be done.

Well the past month I have had to re-do ALL of these settings, and it isn't in there. But just in case I double checked and it isn't.
So.. bugger.
