[RESOLVED] Dell inspiration1525

well may be to early to post here.....but just a few day ago i bought Dell ispiration 1525,with built-In web cam,with window Vista home edition.Well i setup password for new account and next time when i tried to login it was unbale to recoginise the password.........seeing no other option i reinstalled the OS (without formating) and drivers and got laptop work.......But after reinsallation my built in web can stop working,everytime i open webcam manager it say incompatible driver.........being first time user of dell and specially window vista could not figured out much,so thought to get some info from you guys
Here goes my few queries
1>I inserted dell driver and resources CD's and installed drivers as per indstruction,so am i missing any thing specially concern with WebCam.
2>I hevent called dell service center yet and my laptop is in warrenty period (only on hardware),but i already did bit of R&D on laptop by resinstalling OS so can i expect "free" service from dell service center as my webcam drivers is not detecting :rolleyes:
3>Or i just format and reinstalled all stuff again :cry:

In addition to above,any idea whats the make of inbuilt webcam ?

Have you searched on Dell's site for your laptop? and then search for drivers?

Or just do a search on Dell's site for drivers.

i did that and lot of googling too but could not found anything :(

well on dell site i went to drives and download page there i filter category as video.....if i have to select any other category please let me know .

thanks lerroy it did the trick.... sorry for my ignorence but i have couple of few more quries.....i have inbuilt wireless/wi-fi but seems driver not installed when i browse through resource cd i find lot of option (same for ethernet too) so can anyone advice me which one to select.Also when i browse through list of harware i see VGA graphics card driver is also missing....

Wireless is good, but if you have alot of metal inside your house then it isn't very good because it can mess with the signal.

I would right click on my computer go to manage, bring up device manager.

put the CD you got with your laptop.

Right click on a driver with a yellow question mark next to it. and from there go through the wizard to update all the drivers you can from teh CD.

the wizard is pretty straight forward.

well my CD came with bunch of "extract zip" file,hence this trick is not working

:| Eurgh... blooody dell. Well, you might have to extract all the files into meaningful named folders and point the wizard to the files that way

hmm seems to be good option,will try ;)
