Stalled his automatic at a ferry port.
320 people were killed.
 How in the heck do you stall an auto???
My 'Variomatic' automatic can drive top speed in reverse.
That's not so unusual. For some of the older cars, if you get stuck on a hill that's too steep, you can often manage it if you throw the car in reverse and go up backwards.
... stole my tripod.
Note: ferry ports DO NOT have hills.Quote:

VisualAd was in the passenger seat, wittering. We were sat in line, patiently. The attendant motioned us to board. visualAd said "Don't stall it when you start up". I said "Don't be a mactard. You can't stall an automatic".
Then it stalled.
It's the first time it has ever happened, and I didn't think it was even possible. It goes to show that the power of the Dark Side is strong with visualAd. I am going to make sure that he gets what is coming to him next time I see him.
If I was driving up a steep hill, would I prefer it to stall rather than de-clutch? Yes.That would apply to cars with a reverse that is lower than 1st gear. In the case of my car, it simply works the same in both directions.Quote:
