Has anyone used anything else besides Crystal Reports to make reports in .NET?
I'm curious as to if there might be other products that work as well (or better).

I've heard of people using SQL Reporting Services but never have myself.
I use Excel which is i find much better than Crystal. In fact i dont think i;ll ever go back to CR willingly.
Only downside is that you got to write all the code yourself, but once thats done its way easier. Also formulas etc in Excel are a whole lot easier to control.
My 2c anyway...
But would the cilent side need Excel installed?
Yes they do. And yes that is a big downside to the whole thing.Quote:

I also use Excel on my current assignment. It probably isn't a viable solution for a commerical product. Our commerical products all use Crystal. But when writing corporate apps for a company where MS Office is a standard, it is great.
