I am goind to do a FAQ for Manifest files, but how do I put pictures in my post without having them shown all again at the bottom? Do I have to host them somewhere myself, then use the <img> html tag?

If you use the ATTACH tag instead of the IMG tag, they will only show as you want.

Thank you! I've never seen that link before, but it looks really helpful. It also answers my question - thanks!
Sorry, one more question - where do I find the attachement's ID?
Move your mouse over it and look at the URL (in the popup window after it's been uploaded).
You can also go to your User CP and look at the attachments section - http://www.vbforums.com/profile.php?do=editattachments
Click on the upload link and you'll see the id in the URL. However IMG tags work just fine if you have more than one image.
Will this only work after I post the thread, or should it work when I click 'prevew post'?
Either way should work fine during Preview. :)
The [attach] thing isn't working for me, but using the img tag works fine, so I'll stick with it since HTML tags are unrestricted in the FAQ forum. :รพ
Get the attachment id from the link next to the "Manage Attachments" button after you have attached them. Then use the [ATTACH] tags with the attachment id inbetween. This can be done before the final post ing of your post/thread.
The thread was accidentally moved out of the FAQ forum eas the issue so the html img tags broke since html doesnt run in any other forum. I moved it back and its in the queue for approval by Si. ;)
There appear to be two problems, the first is that you are trying to use HTML tags (with < and > ) rather than normal forum tags (with [ and ] ). The other is that you used the wrong URL's (thus ID's) for the attachments, but this may be due to changes you made to the files during a preview.Quote:

Thanks for posting it, I'm sure many people will find it useful. :)
