The Secret Stairs of Germania.
Somewhere in West-Germania there is a flight of stairs that is not allowed to be depicted in any way. And it has subsequently never been captured on film or (digital) canvas.
Today I finally managed to get close enough, I took lots of pictures of the Secret Stairs, mostly in burst mode to get the most out of the moment. When I was satisfied with the number of pictures taken I started to make my getaway.
However, my great escape did not last ten paces. Out of nowhere came a barbarian, making grand gestures and screaming loudly. Through my rough understanding of his rudimentary language gained from previous trips into this man's territory, I knew he wanted me to delete the pictures I had taken of the Secret Stairs revered by him and his tribe. Since I am indebted to his people (a few 100 squid) and strangers are made to pay on the spot, I did not object. I had taken nearly a hundred pictures of the secret stairs so I opted to simply format the SD card rather than deleting them manually.
So my only reminder of my endeavor is a picture of the barbarian that stole my glory.

Actually I was there in the weekend, but the pictures were crappy, that's why I went back.
Here's the oh so special stairway:

Re: The Secret Stairs of Germania.
BTW, that man is not about to walk into a wall, he was turning.
Re: The Secret Stairs of Germania.
He looks like he's inspecting a dent made in the wall, probably by border crossing Dutch terrorists.
So why is this set of stairs not allowed to be depicted in any way?
Re: The Secret Stairs of Germania.
So, sabotaging chemical storage tanks again, eh?
Re: The Secret Stairs of Germania.
Do those stairs go all the way up?
Re: The Secret Stairs of Germania.
All the way to the top of the stairs!

What? I'm going to have to buy new maps now. I just hope Gaul is still there, it's an amusing place and they dress funny.

Who should I believe, an important and respected historian (Tacitus) or a barbarian (you)?
I bet you're one of those Longobards who whishes he was a proper Saxon.
Re: The Secret Stairs of Germania.
Asterix and Obelix rock! I went on vacation to Alesia.. Anyone know where Alesia is?
Re: The Secret Stairs of Germania.
Oh you mean where the Battle of Alesia or Siege of Alesia took place in September 52 BC around the Gallic oppidum of Alesia, a major town centre and hill fort of the Mandubii tribe? Situated probably atop Mont Auxois, above modern Alise-Sainte-Reine in France, but this location—it is said—does not fit Caesar's description of the battle? A number of alternatives have been proposed over time, among which only Chaux-des-Crotenay (in Jura in modern France) remains as challenger today?
That Alesia?
Re: The Secret Stairs of Germania.
 No! Noone knows where Alesia is! Who cares where Alesia is! *mutter*
