[RESOLVED] Comparing VB with other languages
I'm a new in prograing and I'm going to learn VB language programing and someone tell me that Delphi or Java or C++ or C programing languages are better than VB and you can do more by these languages than VB and VB is considered the weakens language progrmaning. Can you recommend me abou this subject.
Re: Comparing VB with other languages
VB is a rapid development language. Meaning that its faster and easier to develop applications in it compared to the lower level languages like the C languages.
Choose the right tool for the job. The language you use should be determined by your needs.
Re: Comparing VB with other languages
With the ability to "do more", the complexity and time needed increases many times over. If you want to do "everything" then you would want to program in Assembly but its not user friendly and takes allot of code/time to do simple things.
VB is by no means a toy or hobbiest language. Its a professional language that is used and provides programming jobs greatly over other languages.

These are words to live and program by.
Where is it written that you can only learn one programming language?
There is no reason why you can't develop a proficiency in each of the languages you mentioned, and then, as Atheist says, allow your needs to dictate which one to use for any given situation.
Re: Comparing VB with other languages
Not to mention that many larger programs are written using several languages and not just one.

I can't understand this . do you mean vb is a toy and hobbiest language.
Re: Comparing VB with other languages
No, I'm saying its a professional language and NOT a toy.

Thank you for this effort.
