Whenever you come across such an ad, do a view source on the page, put that in a .txt file, and attach it to your post. I believe Brad passes it on to someone else who then identifies the offending advert.
OK, here it is.
What browser are you using?
I have IE7 and when the ad ran, I opened up Task Manager and my CPU Usage went from about 8% up to around 38% and stayed there while the ad ran, but it didn't go any higher.
IE6 and Flash version is 9.
Desktop or laptop? (I ask because I get more CPU hits on my laptop than I ever do on my desktop.)
There are 5 versions of Flash 9. The latest is flash9e.ocx
No high cpu usage for me either, IE 7 and about 32-41%.
Interesting... at work, when I read this thread, I think I pressed F5 about 20 times trying to get the advert but I didn't (US IP address). Ever since I got home (UK IP address), it's been showing up on almost all the pages. My CPU usage goes to 53%. No other windows or tabs or pages open. Firefox 2. Win XP Pro.

Perhaps its higher cpu usage in FF due to MS' efforts to retain the browser market share :p
Have you seen VBF in IE 8? It's... it makes me want to start a new thread listing out all that may need to be 'fixed' here - or submitted to MS Connect's feedback.
Sorry, don't want to hijack the thread, perhaps I should.
But its still Beta and vBulletin's 3.7 is Beta 6 now and soon as they finish with that 4.0 is supossed to be completely redone and heavily written with CSS and limited use of JS too. This should make the forums easier to view between more and more browsers.
The Ad issues are almost always related to Flash and the Ad authors poorly written Flash AS.
Desktop - I hate laptops. Sorry, I should've been more specific in the first place.Quote:

Yeah, the Flash plugin for Firefox isn't all that... flash.
As for me, I haven't seen that ad. I do get a really annoying news.com.au one which expands somewhat over the page when you roll over it... but I'm not sure if that classes as reportable.
Yes I have and absolutely hate it - imho ie7 is the worst [from Microsoft] browser ever.Quote:
