Project Management Software
Can anyone recommend any project management software for a small office. We currently have loads and loads of projects and we are finding it hard to keep a grip on things. A piece of software that allows us to schedule projects and place updates and notes would be helpful. Especially as many of our 'fellow out of company associates' rarely stick to their 2 week deadline and come back 6 months later asking how far we have got etc etc.....
So does anyone use a solution they can recommend? :)

Re: Project Management Software
We use MindManager for developer-to-developer note sharing and planning. But as far as scheduling timescales, that's normally the managers' using MS Project.
We like mindmap because you can export to word documents and so its idea for writing documentation with. The documentation is essentially done automatically by the end of the project.

Ok thanks peeps will check out those idea's :)
Re: Project Management Software
Mind Manager was cool looking - but in the long run we stopped using that.
We just started using SHAREPOINT - took the app specialist 3 weeks to design the page - but it's working ok now - it's got projects, tasks - alerts - seems like it might be the best method we've chosen so far.
Plus you can connect inside the network and from home - if you configure SHAREPOINT that way.

Except an even more old fashioned Blackboard or as they are PC called today a Chalkboard.
Re: Project Management Software
A chalkboard sucks. White boards are clearer and erase better.
Re: Project Management Software
And they don't get dust everywhere.
Although you could play some fun games with people and blackboards... namely, hiding a piece of chalk inside the eraser so when they go to erase something they make even more of a mess...

How exactly would that work?

Eraser's in the US have odd cracks between the layers - each layer's edge hits the board.
These cracks are the perfect place to stick a piece of chalk - thus making the whole eraser concept fall apart...
