The goal is to learn SQL. Can I do it from within ms-access? I am not familiar with it. A quick look at it shows query designers , wizards etc.

Thanks for the reply. I think I couldn't explain myself properly. Do we have anything in ms-access through which we can execute the sql statements directly instead of taking recourse to query wizards etc.?
Once you open the wizard you can change to SQL View and write the statement there by hand.
Im not sure whether you can do it in the wizard but the way i do it is in 'Create Query in Design View', you will be ask which tables you want, just close it without selecting any, then right-click select 'SQL View'

Thanks everyone. It seems to be rather round about way of doing it. But then, if that is the only way, there is nothing much one can do but follow it.
