vb6 is not available for download anywhere, if you are new to programing download vb.net express edition. free to use from microsoft

Its illegal to "just download" VB 6. Its a commercial software.

As for changing to the newer VB.NET version just note that its a incompatible different language that is "similar" to VB 6.
