[RESOLVED] Media Programming - Creating mpegs, avis, etc.
Hi folks,
I'm not very familiar with the whole media programming thingy. I've looked at the NERO SDK and it looks a bit scary. Anything else out there that is free and gentler. Maybe .net friendly?
My goal is to get familiar with media programming. My ultimate goal will be to write an app that will take a given file, say mpeg or avi, and will break it up into little mpegs. I'm sure there is software already that does this, but I'm looking to get my feet wet with this kind of stuff. Anyone know of any good libraries or links?

I will see what I can find with Goggle....are you interested in keeping this .NET specific, or are you interested in any development language that would provide you the means to accomplish the goal you have set?

Anything you find is okay, except Nero of course. Thanks buddy. I myself am trying to search as well.

Theres hundreds of tutorials on things like the AVI format.. but not many on compressed formats (such as AVI compressed with DivX).
Look up the AVI format.. start small by reading 1 frame.. I might give it a shot aswell to see how I go (mine'll be C++ though..).
