opening a secure DB without the WRKgrp
Hi
I have brought home a DB from work that I need to do some work on but the
DB will not open as It says I must be part of the group..does anyone have
any ideas as to how I could open this DB..it is really important as I only have
until the WE to finish the DB

The Db was created in msaccess 97 and i'm trying to open it with 2000

In general I don't think that people in the forum will help you hack into a database.. I could be wrong..

Hmm.. well you could try the following, though I am not sure whether it will work , considering the file was not actually made on your computer.
- Navigate to the Restore folder within the System32 directory
- Make sure that you are able to view hidden files and folders
- Look for a file called filelist.xml, and open it in Notepad
- Look for the <Exclude> section, you might want to Ctrl+F for it
- Insert the path to the database, and make sure you format it exactly like the other lines in the section
- Delete, or at least rename any backup files associated with the database
- Reboot
I can't confirm this will work though, because the file wasn't actually made on your computer..
