Winsock APIs

Can somebody help me program using the winsock APIs since I am sick of including the winsck.ocx in my installation program and also it makes the program not work sometimes. So please, anyone who can help me use the winsock APIs. I need to open port and wait connection, make connection, send data and recieve data over two or maybe three connections.
Tutorial links are also welcome.

Personally I always use CSocketPlus (1 module and 1 class) from pscode.com
It works the same way as the OCX.
