I bought Fifa 08 a week before this and it applied some patch to the console. Based on a few google searches, it seems like a lot of Elite's have been brought down by new games installing patches.Quote:

How does installing patches overheat the CPU or motherboard? That's the cause of the Three Red Ring right?Quote:

All that the 3 lights mean is that something has died inside. If you experience this, there is absolutely nothing you can do yourself to fix it. I hope you are still under the warranty, because otherwise, you will be dishing out some cash to get it fixed/replaced.
Microsoft ftl.
Every games console ftl.
PC ftw! I'd even prefer an Apple Mac over a games console.
Lies! All lies!! *cries*Quote:

Actually come to think of it, I think you can use it for anything except games
But still, Apple Macs > Games Consoles. Infinity.
EA and Apple made a deal to have more EA games come to the mac platform. This should raise the number of games available for the mac. Albeit, from the worst game making company.
What about the fact that for the same amount of money you buy a new Apple Mac for..you can build a fortress of xbox360s?:DQuote:

True, but all you can do with the 360 is play games, listen to music, watch pictures and videos etc. etc. With a mac, you can do more (install other programs and stuff).
But by no means would I spend any money on a Mac. I'd prefer it over any games console, but I wouldn't buy it. It's because Macs, like any piece of technology, are prone to being outdated very quickly. And the thing with Macs is that unless you get one of those G4/tower machine things, there is no real way of upgrading. And as you stated, Macs are extremely expensive, and like all Apple products, overhyped and not worth their value (in terms of technicality).
What's the power demand of a 360's psu?
It's one jiggawatt.
My system just RROD'd on me for the first time too. It's about 4 months old as well. Luckily, a reset fixed it...but if it does it again, I am sending it in right away.
Mine does it quite often... thing is: I move it around quite a bit while it's running. Do that, and it's like a "safety mechanism" so that your console won't scratch the disc.
When the RROD comes on, switch off console, wait 5 - 7 seconds, switch back on. Easy. :)
Had my Elite for about 6 months now, playing about 4 hours DAILY. :D
