VB Express 2005 is VB .net... and it's free...
tnx for reply......
And to add a bit more to randems post....
VB Express 2005 is the trimmed down "lite" free version of the more powerful Standard or Pro versions of Visual Basic .NET 2005.

Moved to General Developer
And to add more fuel to the first, VS 2008 is standing in the wings waiting to be introduced to world stage.
You might want to hurry and download the beta version of 2008 as its being released in 2 weeks or so and the beta downloads will be removed at that time.
Do you know if 2008 will be like 2005 in that Express versions would be available for free?
Yes, 2008 Express will remain free and follow the same licensing rules etc.
Good. Consistency from Microsoft is indeed a refreshing change!
Well they would loose a hugh chunk of their user base if they changed it. Its bad enough they are still fighting with the old foggie stoggies that want tocode in vb 6 for another 10-20 years lol.
Not all VB6 coders are coding in VB6 because they want to.
Remember me? The guy that had to B.S. his boss about VB6 apps not working at all when the company moves to Vista? That is the only way I got to make the transition.
There are old foggies out there to be sure, but by in large, they are not the programmers. They are the people the programmers report to.
