Syntax Editor - Block Highlighting?

In some older code i had, i was able to color blocks of code (block highlighting) but have since lost the backups to that older code. rather than me having to re-write the whole code for this can i get hold of some code that already does this. I had this working perfect in my older syntax editor component, need a quick way to get this on again.

its ok just going to leave it out of the editor for now
