???[caps]???
It lowercases if it is the only text in the text area.
else it remains uppercase.

1. can you stop spamming this thread
2. it is a spam prevention type thing
It prevents "yelling". Do you know about the Thread Resolved button?
Yes.
That is why I posted ???[RESOLVED]??? in Bobalandi's thread:
http://www.vbforums.com/showthread.p...91#post3017391
My post there was questioning if his issue was resolved, since he apparently had his solution.
I was shocked that it went to lowercase.
As to posting a second post here to illustrate the effect, and a third post to explain what the second post implied against the first:
Since the first post here in FF stayed in caps
I made a test in the test area:
http://www.vbforums.com/showthread.php?t=490529
Its initial post saw the caps go to lower case.
So I came back here and edited the first post to reflect my observation that it seems to occur in at least 2 forums, but not in FF.
But then I went back to the test thread, performed some more tests, and observed that the Uppercase->Lowercase phenomena only happened if the affected text was (almost) the only text in the post.
However, I could see that FF might have special rules that might prevent it from happening, so I posted the second post here in FF as it required to be the only text in a post, and I felt that Editing the first post to just a single line of text would make this a truly meaningless thread.
And, as the second post did illustrate the phenomena, thus negating my hypotheses in the first post that the issue apparently did not occur here in FF, I had to post the 3rd post to explain why it didn't happen in my first post, and to resolve that it does even occur in FF.
And so, I shall mark this as resolved.
The Phenomena occurs when no single character in an individual post is in lowercase.
Indeed, a good Anti-Yelling method.
Only alphabetic characters are counted when checking if a post is all in uppercase. If it is, the conversion done is actually to Title Case rather than lowercase, but in your case (pun intended) having non-alphabetic characters meant that the title case effect was unobservable.
I haven't done the test yet, but I think it is:Quote:
having non-alphabetic characters meant that the title case effect was unobservable.
having non-alphabetic characters adjacent and preceeding meant that the title case effect was unobservable.
:)
