MTV is the spawn of Corporate Satan. If I owned Viacom, I would fire 99% of the people who works at MTV, cancel most of the shows (cept for Pimp my Ride, and Wild'n'Out) and start from scratch with Music as my basis.Quote:

Being that youtube and the internet video in general is getting so big, I am not sure TV really needs to be showing music videos anymore..
But that's like saying Radio shouldn't be playing music cause of MP3s.Quote:

Sometimes I just like to sit back with an open mind and watch/listen to a sample of the music out there, instead of trying to find specific pieces.
At any rate, MTV is just false advertising at this point, I wish they would change their channel name and give the MTV brand to another provider who would actually play music videos.
Man oh man, I remember MTV Europe (pretty much a UK based thing back then) broadcasting hours long techno mixes at night in the weekends. Also, hosts with some wit.
hard to fathom these days..
I remember that...Quote:

It was a promotion for MTV2 where two disgruntled delivery guys would go to houses to drop off a TV playing MTV2. Which even MTV2 was commercialized into marathons of Real World, Yo Mama and all that other craptacular crap they peddle. No music videos at all.
Remember when 9 year old children in Internet chatrooms were actually 9 year old children and not undercover detectives? Those were the days...
