Moved to General Developer
Do something that you want, or find useful, popular projects include calculators and word processing apps.
Would something like a calculator program if done properly get me a good mark?
I saw someones project from a few years ago and he had made a version of pong. How on earth would he of made that?
How advanced are you? A genetic algorithm is a relatively simple thing to write, and you can do amazing things with them, but you do have to figure out what you actually want the thing to do.
Create a set of classes that support HL7 message formats methods. Sell it for $999 per-seat developer license. Then create an application suite complete with web services that works with them. Sell it for $499 per user plus additional annual support fees. Sell about 1000 of each in your first year and you're talking serious money, over $1M in sales. Sell your company for $5-10 million to a healthcare venture capital firm. Enjoy the beach. :thumb:
Hi
I am only 16 so I am definately not very advanced. It is for my 5th out of 6 year of High School.
How are you at database programming? If you've got the hang of the basics then there are hundreds of ideas you can use. How about a contacts manager where you could store all your contacts details, phone numbers addresses etc. My final year project for my degree was an app that allowed construction companies to control the documentation for large construction projects. You could do a simle system that catalogues the books in your schols library.
The real beauty about doing a DB app is that they tend to be 'real world' (whereas games like pong will only ever be a toy) and most of the job opportunities in programming are database jobs so you'll have something you can show off in interviews etc.
And if you are not familiar with database programming, now would be a go time to play around with it.
If programming is something you think might be interesting to persue as a career, you will need to know database programming.
Hi
Thanks I will look into that.
