Why not just hit the Print Screen button?
Is that site provide any downloading. If so you can use the Power DVD 5 or above. There is an option to capture images.
As soon as my computer is done freezing up as ususal i am going to take a look at this program and as far as Print screen option. i dont have MS paint. Deleted it somehow. Plus that really isnt the fastest most effiecent way
You don't need MS Paint. And if you are only taking one picture then I fail to see how speed and efficiency is a problem?
If you have access to an actual video file (like an .AVI or .MPG or whatever), you can use VirtualDub or VirtualDubMod to extract as many images as you like.
I doubt you deleted ms paint. You may have deleted the icon, but it is hard to get rid of paint. Click start, then hit the run button. Type mspaint hit OK. If paint doesn't show up, then you can easily just install it back.
where would i go to get the program the re install? i know download.com doesnt have ..
You can also use the default Windows Movie Maker. You can capture a frame there.

mspaint.exe is actually a compiled shortcut for pbrush.exe on most systems.
If the video is an overlay, the print-screen method won't work. All you will get is a picture of the transparency color.
It has now been confirmed that Print Scrn works with online Flash vids.

i doubt it. What keyboards are missing it? Laptops? i've never seen a keyboard without one. But i seriously doubt a hardware vendor would leave it off to prevent you from using a built-in windows feature especially when you could get around not having it about 2 dozen different ways.
I found a laptop which missing the Print Screen key. I haven't remember the exact model, but it is a Sony one. That is around couple of years back. That laptop user ask me to take a screen shot, I'm in a real trouble for few minutes because there is no Print Screen key. What I have done is, take his file(ppt file) to my machine and take the screen shot.
i figured it would be a laptop since they don't have 102+ key keyboards. There was probably a fn+keypress combination that did the same thing (like the way you emulate the numeric keypad)
As far as I remember there is no 102 keys, but not sure. Unfortunately I don't have that laptop to check that out. If I found it later it is nice.
mind telling me what option i select to create a picture in VirtualDUB (seeing as how i have now downloaded )
thx

Then paste it to photoshop.
Or you can dump every single frame in a folder by doing File -> Save Image Sequence

i wouldn't think you would need a codec to play a flash video.
Ya, it's true. But what I want to find that VirtualDUB required any codec, to test that it is far better than the flash.:) I check it on the VirtualDUB site and unable to find any solution.
OK, I recommended to use VirtualDub if the OP has access to the original movie. Because you'll have the ability to nitpick the perfect frame.
If the flash movie is good enough in terms of quality, USE PRINT SCREEN whilst playing it.
If you have a certain video file that you can't play, you can use gspot to find out what codec is needed to decode the video and audio streams.Quote:

Wow! I never thought this would end well :D

You can use VLC media player to play most files with out codecs, you can also take frameshots aswell.Quote:

the program doesn't work well on all systems. I can't use that function. It locks the program up. I was going to stream a dvd to create a mpeg on the fly. no luck.
