Just a general question - I'm sure the results will be interesting!!
I see a lot of people building websites offering the service of advertising something like hotels etc. etc. on the web.
Someone approached the company I work for and offered to advertise our company on his site..... I have the "privelege" of making the decision and need some help.
Lets say the guy has a database with 1000's of hotels and he is prepared to display basic info like Address, Contact person etc on this site FOR FREE, BUT(!!) for x amount of money he will build you a web with 30 lines of text and 4 pictures OR give you a link to your (the Hotel, in this case) website.
Lets use these examples -
1.) a link to your website
2.) a basic page with 1-6 pictures and some detail
3.) normal BANNER like we see all over
What would you pay??
Thanks for taking the poll - I'm sure we've all wondered!!

I'd say about $30 USD per thousand views, depending on what of demographic is the audience on his site.

Hi Lize,
Sites I've looked at ask anything between $10 and $50/month or like pactalon said +-$30/1000 views.
$20 - $30 a month for a GOOD ad seems ok to me!!

The problem with paying by the month is if traffic spikes, the host will be paid less than he should; if the traffic drops, the host will be overpaid. Payment by the click or payment by the view is a more accurate form of billing.
