How to Import EAR (created by WebSphere V4) into WebSphere V6
Hello all,
Our company's marketing website was built by some 3rd party years ago using WS version 4 (long before I was hired)... The company that built this website did not provide any source code but rather the compiled classes... Now I'm given the hornor to maintain and update this website... I've done some java programming (not much, but I can learn as I move along) but have never used WebSphere before... So I fired up my favorite search engine (it's Google, BTW :) and started some serious reading... Finally I got the EAR file imported into WS, however, it doesn't working as expected. The propblem is, any jsp pages that use beans (to get data from database) just came up blank when tested... I guess that's because the connection to DB is not set up right in my test environment... However, I've looked and looked and nowhere can i find the settings for DB connection (things like connection strings, data source...)
My question is, where can I find these settings?
Or maybe I'm heading in the wrong direction?
I strongly believe that once I had this website running correctly in WS (just as it is in production right now), I can perform just about any maintenance or updates required... The problem is getting it to run in the first place :(
Any help on this matter is highly appreciated.

It really depends on the developer who built your website, you are most likely to find it in an XML file
And by the way, I don't think this is the best place for this question. You should look for a java specified forums
