watch out for dodgy skins though ;)
Classin skin with iZotope Ozone DSP plugin. Most of the time it stays hidden.
well i tried winamp but there are some dangerous plugins and skins like "vortex skin" which looks like it will be a great skin, don't download it, now i have to reformat my pc... makes me suspicious. it used to be great now even the visualisations don't work properly anymore
then i tried jet audio, now that package takes sucking to new heights.
then i tried this http://www.videolan.org/ cause it looks the business, but the windows implementation is badly crippled.
are there no quality media player for windows?????
I think Windows Media player runs on windows, but I'm not 100% sure...
iTunes!!!!
you could be right about that Andrew :oQuote:

bsplayer, i mean really do they expect anyone to download it? :D
can anything beat windows media player?
I use:
Audio files: Always WinAmp
Video Files (depends on the format): VLC, WinAmp, WMP (old - mplayer2), WMP (new), Media Player Classic, BSPlayer (:D), RealPlayer, QuickTime, PowerDVD
Download ACE or K-Lite codec pack.
nup with iprank, did a back to back comparison with windows media player v winamp and nothing whips the lama's ass like winamp :bigyello:, just have to be wary of some of the downloads ;)
what about virtual dimension

VLC is the king of video players. Having said that, I don't actually like it. I use WMP 10, and sometimes BSPlayer.
iTunes is a steaming pile of [removed by mod]
it definitely has the potential, but its still a kid, not even version 1 yet ;)Quote:

Like I said, I don't like it or use it.
ok then due to penagate and iprank, i will download bsplayer :D just to make sure i didn't miss something.
I would recommend you to try the Ozone DSP plugin for Winamp. I was amazed when I first installed it.
In my system, Linux sound driver is WAY better than Windows driver. So, without any plugin, XMMS gives me best sound quality.
I use BSPlayer to play RM/RMVB. It is less resource hungry than RealPlayer.Quote:

I have the one from ACE-Mega Codec Pack. It doesn't have any 'spyware'.
I didn't know they'd made it ad-supported.
i had to reformat anyway after "the vortex" skin and the trojan just forced the issue, so now i am back again.
"BS.Player from version 1.38 is bundled with WhenU Save ad-support. If you would prefer not to use the ad-supported version of BS.Player, you may upgrade to a paid subscription of BS.Player Pro which will not have WhenU Save.
The BS Player team would like to emphasize that we spent a year selecting the appropriate partner for our valued BS Player community. We were approached by every major company in the Internet; however, we selected WhenU as a partner due to their product quality, cutting edge behavioral targeting and overall consumer experience. give it up for them that's quality BS! :D
between the time my pc went down to now they released a new version 5.35 which i just installed (maybe not but i only just got notified then) :)
will try that plugin now iprank. i was looking for the random and visualisation changer buttons too, nice info penagate. now i have the visualisations up and running again and a new version of the app, its off to the plug in and skins store again :D
what i will be looking for is a parametric equalizer if they have one...
There was so much BS in that statement that my head almost exploded. My God...
Anyways, nubs use winamp.
ss original, although i think the classic skin is still in the lead :)
ok i found a nice equalizer extension for real sound engineers or advanced djs, but then blew the speakers, but the $20 speakes said they were 800watts, yeah sure ;)
You need a limiter if you're going to start messing with an equaliser that much, otherwise you'll blow any speakers. That's where audio players fall down; they should not include an equaliser at all.
How can an equalizer blow a speaker?
sure but how do you get a smile from a track without an eq given that most tracks are mixed by donkeys? pehaps more expensive kit prevents overloading the speaker drivers?
It's not the drivers, it's more that when you push the signal over +0.0dB it begins to clip and the more clipping you get the more stress you place on the speakers.
Listen to better music. :DQuote:

I'm planning to create a winamp visualization plugin in VB6.
I request help from anyone who knows C or is learning C. :)

Creating things in VB6 is an exercise in despair and futility.
