If he calls himself "African American" I hear liberia is looking for someone to run things. He better be a "American". The man you speak of doesn't have a chance to win the nomination. He'll probably run on hillary's ticket as a vp candidate. They will both loose anyway. No way that combo flys in the big states. Not enough blacks or feminazis living in them to vote blindly for two people who have no business putting their finger on "the button". Rudy/McCaine is going to be the landslide winner. That's my guess any way. I'll guarentee this. This will be the largest voter turnout in American history and that is probably not a good thing for the democrats.
Does it matter? If he can do a good job up there, why does ethnicity have anything to do with it?
I like Obama. I hope he wins. John Edwards second. Al Gore first if he actually runs.Quote:

Anyways, I actually thought Obama and his non-partisan ideas were something special, but when he refused to debate on fox because it's conservative he proved that he's a liar and just another politician. I won't mention the fact that he gets upset if you make fun of his big ears or beer gut. But even outside of that, he's a better candidate than the two Satan's (hillary and rudy) and the old guy who wears suits too tight... and John Edwards is not worth mentioning.
Personally, I won't vote unless Colin Powell is on the ballot or someone with some intelligence enters the race.
Just to put this out there, i am not racisit or anything, i am asking b/c i need to pick a topic to debate about in my english class, and i want to see how people reacted in the real world. Thanks.
Wow, you are just full of bitterness. African American is just a Politically Correct ethnic identifier used by people who tend to be politically correct (aka politicians and public figures).Quote:

In fact Obama has said that nobody should vote based on race (refering to the idea that black people might vote for him just because he's black).
The original topic of discussion is largely loaded and biast. The usage of "faced with" typically ensues some kind of "unwanted" or "unexpected" euphemism.
That said, I think he has a very good chance and I haven't heard much that would make me dislike him. Although, even though I'm not pro-red, my vote would probably go to Giuliani. He's running red, but he's purple on the topics I have had the most issue with when it comes to red canidates.
How could you say your not a racisit with a thread like this? Race shouldnt even be a factor. Its all about the person and who they are AS a person. Now if he wasnt a born usa citizen then he couldnt run as its not allowed. So seems like a bad question altogether if you ask me.Quote:

Purple because he changes his mind all the time so it's impossible to know where he actually does stand?Quote:

It'll be an interesting race. McCaine does have a fair shot, but I think the conservatives will stay home with Rudy, and maybe Romney. They may not come out in force for McCaine, either, he isn't really conservative enough.Quote:

Hillary has a pretty good shot, as much as the conservatives hate her. Bush managed to make people nostalgic for Clinton. The whole race will swing on the center, and I expect the center will actually like her.

Considering the rest of the world has such anti-American semitism and no knowledge of American politics, I support his decision. Not to mention HE created the thread.Quote:

i have to be continually reminded i am white because i don't see color. But in any case anyone can look and see that we have had an african-american on the ticked every four years for i don't know how long. Jessie Jackson ring a bell? But Obama (and what an unfortunate name he has- his middle name hussein will cost him votes) simply gave a nice speech once and now everyone loves him. The truth is the LIBERAL MEDIA (heh couldn't resist) love him and Hillary. Purely percentage wise, Hillary has a better chance of the two to win although you will notice her accent changes depending on who she talks to. Obama isn't african american in the first place, actually. He wasn't born in the United states and is a citizen on a technicality and i am pretty sure he's 1/2 hawaiian (don't quote me). At least Hillary has a proven track record of being a good President :) although i don't like any of her lesbian appointees such as the surgeon general or the woman in charge of education who got fired for promoting mastrubation in school curriculums.
IMO I deep into the US politics but not a US resident. I like obama, I hope he makes it as president, but apparently hes not African-American the specific term for afro-americans is that your heritage is from West Africa, and have links to the slavery, he is part Kenyan(East Africa) but apparently from what Im told the afro-american community accept him though.
according to experts that is...
I wouldn't worry too much if i lived in Europe. By the time our current president realizes you guys have oil wells too he'll be out of office.:rolleyes:Quote:

Rudy is a democrat who calls himself a republican. Same with McCaine.Quote:

I don't think the center is going to like any of them in particular. I personally wouldn't trust any of those morons running the country. As usual it's going to come down to voting for giant douche or terd sandwich again.Quote:

maybe i was backwards and his parents are foreign? it is hard to keep up with people magazine :D
From what I remember, his mother is white american. His father black north african. he also lived a little while in a south east asian island country, I forgot the name.Quote:

I think if you think Hillary is dumb you don't know her very well. That is the biggest manipulative b**** there is and you don't get that way by being dumb. Anyone who can Talk to a black church and quote Martin Luthor King better than an Actual Black Man (complete with fake Ebonics) deserves an academy award.
Hillary = Satan. She's evil and deceptive.Quote:

I don't recall giving a crap about european politics. And watching biased news reports doesn't count as knowledge.Quote:

My analyis:
Guiliani sucks at everything.
mccain sucks and his face is falling off.
edwards is retarded.
obama preaches non-partisan politics and won't debate on a conservative news channel.
hillary = satan.
This upcoming election is looking good.
I don't know about Democrat, but not quite Republican, either. I know what you mean, though (at least I think I do). The leading Republican candidates don't really have any track record of toeing the party line. The dems don't have that problem, as there never has been a party line to toe.Quote:

I'm not nearly that pessimistic. Frankly, we have a crusader in the White House now, and he's the least popular president in a long time (ever?). He has his supporters, but they are a fringe group by definition. Several of the people running would actually be pretty good simply because they are NOT idealogues. Hillary would be fine, McCaine would be fine, Rudy would be fine, Obama would be fine. Sure, none of them will lead us to greatness, but then again, nobody could. We, as a nation, can't decide what greatness is. Some folks want to suppress any criticism of the nation, some want to answer any criticism, others want to address the causes of the criticism, and still others want to deny that there IS any criticism.Quote:

The truth is that a huge number would be adamantly opposed to "doing the right thing" depending on whoes "right thing" we are doing. If you felt that going after carbon emission was the "right thing", we all know there are legions howling against any such thing. If you feel that the christian right agenda is the "right thing", I would be one of the voices in opposition simply because I think the agenda is evil. Take any position and you will have a large and vocal group arguing strongly against it.
Thus, we all talk about dynamic leadership, but our leaders are followers, and it would be best for the majority of people if those following leaders followed the will of the majority. They can influence the will of the majority, but they won't really go against it. At best, they will have their one or two pet issues, and they make real progress on them, but modern American presidents can do no better than putting their foot in it, unless they work with a consensus of support.
Many of these candidates would be fine simply because they are not idealogues.
actually Santa Clause is satan. Same letters in their first name, Both wear red and black, HAVE YOU EVER SEEN THEM TOGETHER?:eek:Quote:

Yes I have and I did. People are using the phrase all over the place but no one is explaining what it means. You have used it so I assume you know what it means. So I ask again what is "anit-American semitism"?Quote:

Iran. That's a no brainer. Actually, whoever gets elected will probably bomb Iran either directly or indirectly.Quote:

Dude, have you looked at the current president of the United States? He got there.
At least we have a crusader who isn't backed by congress. I'm voting Republican this time simply because of the democratic majority. The less damage that these guys(gals) have the power to do, the better.Quote:

Hillary is far from dumb (in fact a harvard graduate) and has about 3/4 of the country convinced she stands for every issue they believe in.
Yeah Bush only graduated from that little known school in Connecticut called Yale University. Then got a Masters degree from....ummmm Harvard? That can't be because Hillary graduated from there and shes far from dumb...:ehh:Quote:
