VBA - Send Email from no one inparticular?
Hey All,
I'm currently trying to do something I've never done before and am just wondering if it is possible.
Basically, I have an excel document which requires a user to go in and fill out a bunch of information. After they do so, they click a button i put there and it saves it to a networked folder. This all works fine, but I also want an email to be sent to a few people notifying them that a new form has been saved. I know how to Email and all with VBA, but the problem comes in here that the user that submitted this form does not have an email account.
So my question is, is there some way to maybe send an email using VBA from no one in particular? Or would I have to have an email account set up for this reason alone, and then the VBA could access that email account and send an email from it? Without actually loading Outlook (to keep the security away from the user submitting the form).
Re: VBA - Send Email from no one inparticular?
Nope, you can not send email from a non-valid account in VBA or any other email program. Create a generic all purpose email account for them all to share just for this use.

im just using an smtp host instead.

It will still have and need an account to authenticate from so it will "be" from "somebody"
