Check your CMOS settings.
Did you correcly install the drivers for the hardware?
yes, windows update dosent find any. i have been looking on the abit website and updated them i still get the problem.
also i get this error message when i run the 3D tests:
Direct3D 7 test results: Failure at step 8 (Creating 3D Device): HRESULT = 0x8007000e (Out of memory)
Direct3D 8, Direct3D 9 successfully complete.
i am going to try another driver to see if this fixes the problem. I dont think it will as i have tried about 3 already.
also my CMOS settings are fine i checked them first.
bad video memory ? ( just a wild guess)
I've made it worse now, my pc cant use direct3D. Also can anybody access this site:
http://www.abit-usa.com/downloads/dr...es=1&model=136
the server might be down i have been tryin for a few days now, byt since ma pc has gone completely wrong i though it might be my pc.
The connection times out.. but luckily there are ways to see "previous" versions of pages, such as these copies of that page:
http://web.archive.org/web/*/http%3A...%26model%3D136
(I haven't checked properly, but the downloads seem to work).
i have installed a graphics card 32mb memory, i know it works ok because it passed all the direct x tests on the computer that i got it from. now i have put it in mine and it doesent detect the memory on the card and direct3D and DirectDraw cant be accelerated.
Have you installed the drivers for that card?
yes,
Below is the screenshot from the other pc with the graphics card in it everything works on it.

now i have put it my pc and it doesn't work i cant get directdraw acceleration. The driver i am using is the latest one.

does anybody have any idea on this, im pretty good with pc's but i have tried everything i can think of.
That driver certainly doesn't appear to be the latest - see if there is a more recent one here.
You may also need to change settings in your BIOS to 'enable' the separate card.
You should also check that you have the correct drivers for your motherboard.
it is the latest, i installed the new one and it installed the same driver and control centre. From what i can see my bios settings are ok.
the link above in post 6 is my motherboards manufacturer but the server is still down. its a via chipset i know that. Do you know of any software to find out info about my motherboard so i can find out the exact model.
what i dont understand is it shows the amount of memory as N/A
Nope.. I usually just look at the board (the model should be written in big letters somewhere on it).
i have got the latest driver for my board from the via website
