Stuck on what to do?
i have recently got round to learning about vb.net (2005), i am looking to focus on a certain area but i have no idea which area would be good to focus on and what are the things i would learn for those areas?
i was hoping someone could suggest something they like and mention some of the things i would need to learn about :)
thanks

Re: Stuck on what to do?
What "areas" are you considering to be available for selection?

Re: Stuck on what to do?
any that involve creating applications that do something useful and that you can be creative with to make new things.

Re: Stuck on what to do?
I don't think VB necessarily falls into areas, but if I were to select an area that would be the most valuable, it would be either databases or web. Most VB programs seem to involve databases one way or another, and the web is certainly a big thing.
However, I don't really think areas apply. In the course of any significant use of VB, you are likely to get into all different kinds of things (except UPD, nobody does UDP). Perhaps the first program would be a DB front end. Then the next is client server and TCP. Then you might deal with both. Its very fluid.

If you have the entire Visual Studio package, I would take a look at ASP.NET and ADO.NET as well.

You can get SQL Server 2005 express for free so that might be an option for you.
