run as compatability vista
hey guys does any version of vista have the feature like xp where it allows you to run a program with a different compatibility mode ? with xp it had the 95,98,nt and 2000 options. i assume it doesn't with all the compatibility issues but i haven't played around with vista long enough to look. it would be a cool feature. if its not there i wonder why they took it out for vista ?

Re: run as compatability vista
thanks rob i looked on my version i have (i have an RTM version that has them all but im using basic home as thats all my current computer will support) and the feature is there as well. but would this not solve some of the issues with compatibility?
Re: run as compatability vista
I'm not sure but I think compatibility mode is for memory allocation and such. Not for filesystem restructuring etc. Perhaps some searching on "compatibility mode" would turn up more.
Re: run as compatability vista

Re: run as compatability vista
Ok, thanks. I never really looked into what tuning the compatibility feature did so it would be good to know.
