hey i just got a dvd drive i want to
know if theere is a way to convert the
dvd to mpeg or asf on my hard drive?

Gee, thats steep. If you want to convert to avi, use flask-mpeg.

But if you want to convert to mpeg then use something like DVD2Mpg.
