Hi,
How can I retrieve the default value out of the registry?
THANX
Default value?
Yes,
The "(Default)" string value in the rightpane of the regediter.
I don't think you can get that value.
Yes you can. All you have to do is pass a blank string for the parameter that you would normally fill in with a value.
Here some registry code you can use.
Add to a Module
Usage:Code:Declare Function RegCloseKey Lib "advapi32.dll" (ByVal HKEY As Long) As Long
Declare Function RegCreateKey Lib "advapi32.dll" Alias "RegCreateKeyA" (ByVal HKEY As Long, ByVal lpSubKey As String, phkResult As Long) As Long

Thanks Magatron, Juz learn somethings new from you. :))
THANX Megatron for the answer.
Hey,
I know the problems been solved, but if you are using the example provided in vb-world.net or using raw API you can use vbNullString as the key name and it will return the default value.
:)
DragonSteve: You're welcome.
jtaylorlb: You can do that with the above code too.
