[RESOLVED] Error message on executing setup file.
Hi guys,
I’m tried to install a new screen saver downloaded from the net. When executing *.exe file, it gives the following error and halt the installation.
I’m worried about the highlighted line on it. First, it can’t be a virus. Second, I’m sure that downloaded the setup successfully. So what it is pointed on “damage disk”. Is it about HDD, saved the file on bad clusters or somewhere like that?
Re: Error message on executing setup file.
It means that your install file did not pass the crc check.Just download the file again.
Re: Error message on executing setup file.
it means dont download Screen Savers from websites .. :D
Seriously though, what wiki said, just re download.
Also, they do very frequently contain viruses/malware ..

I'm confusing with this statement. Can you say something on it more.
Thanks

Rory,
Actually I'll do it two times. But nothing.
Re: Error message on executing setup file.
post the link .. ill take a go at it .. test my AVG while im at it :-)
Re: Error message on executing setup file.
This is the link Rory,
http://www.screensavers.com/landing/...ml?aff_id=1004
From that list I'll try the one named "Puppies"
Thanks.
Re: Error message on executing setup file.
Well .. for starters it requires IE only .. and thats a red herring ..
Also, when you do go in IE to download it has adware automatically selected to be installed .. you can uncheck that but you are allowing it to install something automatically by clicking OK so who knows what else it is installing ..
Sorry i cant test that one, i find adware worst that viruses :D
Re: Error message on executing setup file.
Never mind Rory,
I think I made an error on my first post.
Actually for any work on the web I used FF. I used IE this time only. My 15 years old brother asked a Screen Sever from me, and I selected this. As you mentioned I found it as an adware, and I'll never think about it much care.
Thanks for your comment.
By the way do you have any other idea.
