Has anyone tried out Windows Vista?
If I were to build a new computer, should I stick with Windows XP or go to Vista? I'm a gamer.
How much of a resource hog is it?
Any really important legacy software not work with it?

I have been running the final RTM release of Vista for almost 3 months now and nothing more then a couple of very very monor issues.
It does require more resources from your hardware so you would want the latest and greatest hardware you can afford, especially since you are a gamer. I would say though that for games that I can not make the judgement since I am not a gamer.
Also, there is a noticeable price difference with Vista as compared to XP Pro SP2. I wouldnt recommend buying Home unless you get Home Premuim or possibly Ultimate.
Are you looking to get a multicore CPU and 667 MHz RAM or higher?
I guess. I'm not a hardware guy. I'm going for 64 bit processor, maybe one that can multi-process.Quote:

I see no future in 64 bit OSes as of now  .Instead go for a dual core config. like Robs.Quote:
