Why a book?
Save your money.
Check out this link...
http://www.vbtutor.net/
Then click on 'Enter Tutorial'.
It seems okay. It's even got pictures / screenshots!
Or, alternatively, just type 'tutorial visual basic 6' in your favourite search engine and go for it.
Ahem... Of course don't forget to check out this forum as well :)
Moved.
If you don't know any VB then why start with VB6?
I'd suggest learning VB.NET
Your gonna move past the samples in the book pretty quickly since they're overly simple... I learned by learning how to extract info from MSDN Library, I also read the related articles/functions/controls... then its all a matter of treating the knowledge as "lego", with more blocks to use (you know more functions/controls/etc) you can build your applications more easily.
My advice is to also learn how to get and understand information from other sources, not just a book or vbforum.
cah....:
I would have to agree with Hack and suggest that you start your learning process with .Net.
You can get VBExpress and SQL Server Express FREE from Micro$oft's Web site so you wouldn't have to buy any software.
While VB 6 will certainly be around for a long time to come, .Net is the future and sooner or later all VB'ers are going to end up there.
Good Luck with your learning experience.
Hi,
I agree with them. .NET is becoming more popular for us developers. However, if your really interested in VB 6.0 or a student learning VB6.0, try DEITEL, MS PRESS or other Publishers. Use MSDN also..Well, vbforums contains informations for you to learn VB..This forum is awesome!!!
